Another healthcare project is under way in North Texas. KDC has broken ground on a 16,600-square-foot medical facility in northern Rockwall for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall.
The building will house physician offices, an emergency room, and diagnostic and lab operations. It was designed by Corgan Architects. MAPP Construction is the general contractor; broker Austin Lewis represented KDC in the transaction.
Cindy Paris, the hospital’s president, said more patients are coming from the north Rockwall area and nearby communities. “Over the past year, we’ve evaluated how we were serving those patients and determined that we could do more,” she said in a statement. The new plan will allow those patients to receive care closer to home, she said.
The facility’s emergency room will be open 24/7 and offer all of the capabilities of the hospital’s on-campus ER operations.
Construction is slated for completion in late 2012; the emergency department is expected to be operational early next year.
