With 60 percent of the space preleased, SRP Medical has broken ground on the Methodist Hospital for Surgery Pavilion in Addison. The 80,000-square-foot facility, which will house medical offices and outpatient services, is slated for completion in April 2013.
It will sit south of Trinity Mills along the Dallas North Tollway, next to the Methodist Hospital for Surgery, a 32-bed, 108,000-square-foot specialty hospital that specializes in spine and orthopedic surgery. That facility opened in November 2010 as a joint venture between Methodist Hospitals of Dallas and a group of local surgeons.
It’s the seventh healthcare-related development for SRP Medical, which was formed in 2008. Prior to that it operated as a division within The Staubach Co., which was acquired by Jones Lang LaSalle. SRP Medical focuses on projects in Texas and other southern states; it’s led by Scott Wilson and Marc Goldman.
The Addison project could get even larger, as a former Los Cabos restaurant adjacent to the site was recently acquired to provide room for future expansion, Wilson said in a statement.
“The demand for space reflects the success of the hospital, the high-profile location, and the strength of both Methodist and the physician partners,” he said.
Other players involved include Frost Bank (construction financing), Rogers O’Brien (general contractor), and BOKA Powell (architect).
