PMFG Inc., parent of Peerless Mfg. Co., has acquired 33 acres off Dakota Lane in Denton County for a new 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. The company held a ceremonial groundbreaking this morning to kick off the project. Construction will get under way this month and wrap up next summer.

Peerless makes systems and products used in the delivery of energy. It primarily serves the power generation, natural gas infrastructure, and petrochemical processing markets.

Peter Burlage, CEO, said it’s seeing more demand for its environmental and process products equipment both in the U.S. and internationally. “This growth is attributed in large part to the role that natural gas will play in meeting our future energy requirements,” he said in a statement.

The new facility will expand PMFG’s existing manufacturing capabilities and support global supply-chain needs, he said. When it gets up and running, it will employ more than 150 people.
