Nebraska Furniture Mart of Texas will kick off construction next week on a 1.86 million-square-foot retail showroom and distribution center. Slated to open in 2015, the 75-year-old retail store will anchor a planned $1.5 billion, 433-acre, mixed-use development.
Speakers at a Sept. 25 groundbreaking event will include: The Colony Mayor Joe McCourry; Denton County Commissioner Ron Marchant;The Colony City Manager Troy Powell; Ron Blumkin, president and chief operating officer of the Nebraska Furniture Mart; Bob Batt, executive vice president; and Jeff Lind, chief strategy and development officer.
The event will be held at 10:15 a.m. at the store’s site in The Colony, on the southern side of State Highway 121 between W. Spring Creek Parkway and Plano Parkway.
