Spec’s Wine, Spirits, and Finer Foods has leased a freestanding building on Olympic Drive in Dallas for its North Texas headquarters and distribution operations. With more than 140 store locations totaling about 1.8 million square feet, Spec’s is the largest liquor chain in Texas.
The company has been expanding in Dallas-Fort Worth, most notably with a 45,000-square-foot “superstore” at Central Expressway and Walnut Hill Lane.
Since then, “we’ve opened at Preston and Royal, in Plano and Hebron, and we have a new store opening in Lowry Crossing in a matter of weeks,” said Jody Detmore, real estate manager and broker for SFP Brokerage LLC. “These, in addition to other multi-store expansion sites, are in play for Dallas and Fort Worth.”
The new distribution center and office, within the Interstate 35/Northwest Highway submarket, totals 31,502 square feet. Colliers International’s Chris Teesdale, Tom Pearson, Matt Thopmson, and Phil Rosenfeld represented the property owner in the deal.
