What began eight years ago as a local Dallas education outreach program has blossomed into a national event hosted by Commercial Real Estate Women nationwide. CREW Careers, launched by the group’s Dallas chapter, was so successful, the program was adopted in 2005 by the CREW Foundation, which allowed other chapters nationally the opportunity to adopt the program in their cities.
Additionally, the CREW Careers program is measured in conjunction with a research initiative by CREW Network in order to evaluate the progress that women are making in commercial real estate careers.
Last Friday, CREW Dallas members hosted its annual event in partnership with the Erma Rangel School in Fair Park. The partnership has continued to grow over the years, providing hands-on experience and learning for young students interested in pursuing real estate careers.
Last years’ project was a vacant office building in Deep Ellum listed by Hudson Peters Commercial. One of the ideas for leasing and development proposed in the competition came to realization this year: The project will be used as a school by the new owners.
It’s just another example of public-private partnerships in education to create successful outcomes!
