Essilor of America will take occupancy this month of a nearly 170,000-square-foot distribution center in Lewisville. Waters Ridge II was developed by Duke Realty at 501 E. Corporate Drive.

One of the world’s largest manufacturers of optical lenses, Essilor is a French company whose U.S. headquarters is in Farmers Branch.

“Essilor is a fast-growing company that needed a distribution facility with more warehouse space than it currently has,” said Jeff Thornton, senior vice president of Duke Realty’s Dallas operations, in a statement.

The lens-maker required that the property be fully climate-controlled. Duke’s in-house construction team is working on completing this work before the move-in date, the company said.

Jean Russo, senior director of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, is the longtime tenant representative for Essilor. She said Duke won the deal because it had the right product available and the ability to meet the quick time frame for move-in.

Curt Hefner, vice president, was the in-house leasing representative for Duke.
